Hello, I'm Carin and I invite you to explore our natural world, in all its beauty, through the unique window of watercolour
I specialise in bold watercolours of nature - and my paintings are as diverse in style and subject as nature itself.
Most of my original paintings and limited edition giclée prints are designed to fit in standard-sized frames, but I also love painting big, as you can see from 'The Magical Colours of Port Phillip Bay' above (230cm x 100cm). Every artwork comes with my Certificate of Authenticity. International delivery is no problem at all.
I also work in charcoal, pastels and photography - and write poetry; using whichever medium best suits the subject, although I definitely have a love affair with watercolour! Its fluid, unpredictable, layering properties mirror our ever-changing dynamic natural world.
Every time I pick up my brushes I'm excited to see what will unfold
Many of my paintings are of St Kilda, Melbourne, where I live, with some from Emsworth and Goodwood in England, where I grew up; however, an important part of my work is creating your favourite view, wherever it may be.
I'm so lucky to be able to create paintings that give joy - to you, or for you to give to someone special. I'm honoured to be able to do this and to share our beautiful world in this way.
I believe that creativity has the ability to voice important subjects
Through my art I've raised attention to supporting our refugees and people seeking asylum, countering domestic violence, equality for marginalised communities and the knowledge held in our Indigenous community about protecting their land. See Community for more information.
Where I am heading
I know that there is still a huge amount that I can achieve. I would love to be widely known for great art, advocacy for important subjects, and encouraging others to never give up on their dreams! To date, all my work has been self-funded. My dream is to reach more people through my paintings by having the backing of promoters, funders, sponsors or benefactors to open doors to new opportunities.
When not painting
I live with my beautiful partner Paul, who has incurable cancer and multiple sclerosis, so part of my day is helping him with his daily challenges. Three days a week I contribute to the important work of reducing modern slavery and domestic and family violence, as Program Manager of the Industry Impact Hub at the not-for-profit Telco Together Foundation. I work with an amazing bunch of committed and talented people.
Keep in touch
I invite you to contact me if you'd like to license my work or have a particular commission in mind or for any other reason. You can also subscribe and have the chance to win an A3 print of your favourite painting. Twice a year I send an update about my latest paintings, exhibitions and community projects.
Have fun viewing and perhaps choosing your own special watercolour.
A big hug to you
